We are half way through the event. Day one was highlighted by opening show at Fashion Tent, presenting a parade of more than 60 Indonesian designers who will showcase their collections over the week and a number of fashion shows by Indonesia Fashion Forwards designers. There was also a partnership between Jakarta Fashion Week and Australia-Indonesia Centre & Melbourne Fashion Festival, which presents Pageants and The Woolmark Company from Australia, the global authority on wool, which presents Rahul Mishra.

The Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) 2015 closes its fourth day after presenting scores of strong collections. The opening day on November 1st, witnessed the presentation a group of designers who undertook a special training and incubation program called Indonesia Fashion Forward (IFF). The strongest of this bunch was Sapto Djojokartiko whose creation of beautiful, flowing dresses with intricate details of embroidery which caught the undivided attention of the audience, which consisted of buyers, the media and fashion lovers.

Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) 2013 takes place at Fashion Tent, Plaza Senayan, from 3 to 9 November 2012. With the theme “Indonesia Today, The World Tomorrow”, this largest fashion event in Indonesia began with the collections of Lie Sang Bong, a Korean designer and the Indonesian designer Sebastian Gunawan.

In the first section, Lie Sang Bong, the Paris-based-designer, launched his collection inspired by butterflies. His couture designs were presented in irresistible palettes from blue, red, orange to green.

Jakarta Fashion Week 2012

The Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) is Indonesia's definitive fashion event, held annually to showcase Indonesian fashion design talents as well as the progress of its burgeoning fashion and creative industry. The goal is to establish the city of Jakarta as a global fashion hub. Most shows are invites-only, reserved for buyers, local and foreign media, socialites, celebrities and the rest of the fashion-loving public.

This year more than 150 designers - local, regional and international - have confirmed their attendance at Jakarta Fashion Week 2012. The opening night (12 November) featured four of ASEAN's global talents: Biyan from Indonesia, the Singapore-born England-based Ashley Isham, Malaysia's Bernard Chandran and Thailand's Tube Gallery. At Jakarta Fashion week will also participate the British milliner Justin Smith's collaboration with Oscar Lawalata, Dewi Fashion Knights, which boasts the latest collections from Indonesia's elite designers such as Tex Saverio, Sebastian Gunawan, Sally Koeswanto, Sally Djojokartiko and Auguste Soesastro.

Jakarta Fashion Week 2009/2010 (JFW 09/10) officially began on November 14. The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Mr. Fauzi Bowo, attended the opening ceremony to inaugurate the event. Located at The Pacific Place Mall Jakarta, JFW 09/10 aims to deliver Indonesia's trend directives for 2010. Each runway show sounded its voice, exhibiting Indonesia's readiness for global exposure.

As Indonesia's biggest fashion event, JFW 09/10 aims to champion Jakarta as one of Asia's major fashion hubs. With the support of local and international media, JFW 09/10 hopes to raise the bar for Indonesia's designers to compete in the international market.
