Undercolors of BENETTON Spring/Summer 2010 Collection
With a touch of originality, Undercolors of Benetton focuses on the moments of the day that bring a feeling of being at ease, at home or on the beach.
The leisurely atmosphere of an afternoon spent relaxing is shown in the prints, fabrics and colours which create a range of romantic, simple, comfortable styles as only Undercolors can. Jersey fabrics are covered in tiny floral prints and embellished with lace and frills. Clingy vests and shorts barely hide themselves under comfortable cotton jersey and viscose tops and roomy trousers, perfect for homewear. Flashes of red or denim blue illuminate delicate shades.
Colour leads this theme. Prints and touches of lace leave the romantic road to introduce a vaguely provocative, rather cheeky note. Cottons for vests, bras and shorts; glossy, shiny fabrics for short slips and printed co-ordinates. He adapts to the situation but with a more tongue-in-cheek approach through a new twist to the classic gingham check and tiny prints on boxer shorts.
Strictly masculine looks for a theme clearly inspired by sport. Coloured stripes and contrast piping on the edges of briefs and boxer trunks in a perfect sporty style just right for the rugby pitch or surfing contests. The main fabric is stretch or non-stretch cotton jersey.
Printed cotton, iridescent Lycra, stretch jersey, Hawaiian flowers, paisley designs, brilliant voiles, crinkle-effect viscose jersey: they all gather under the Undercolors sun umbrella to create a fun, carefree summer.
One- or two-piece swimsuits for her are worn with versatile styles halfway between a beach robe and a little dress that is perfect for a cocktail party on the beach. Printed sarongs team with ultra-light voile maxi shirts that would not look out of place for a dinner by the sea.
There are knee-length Bermuda shorts with typical hibiscus-bloom prints for those who fancy themselves as a ladies’ man; or there are plain-coloured Lycra costumes for those who prefer a relaxing swim.
