The Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2011 began yesterday. It will continue 4 days. Most interesting during the first day was the Christian Dior fashion show.
This time when creating his collection for Dior, John Galliano was inspired by the work of Rene Gruau - a famous artist-illustrator.Tight jackets, magnificent shoulders, deep necklines and tailored skirts to the knee were the center of the collection with 1950s flavour. Galliano went all-out for volume, enveloping his models in layers of tulle as they flowed down the runway.

French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier presented his first haute couture collection in Russia at a Moscow's Kazansky train station. At the show attended many Russian celebrities – actors, pop stars, as well as fashion designers. Gaultier opened his first boutique in the centre of Moscow in 2005. He was surprised by the pace of change the city had seen since then.
