On 16th March I attended the fashion show of AKIKOAOKI brand at Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo. After graduating from Joshibi University of Art and Design in Tokyo, Akiko continued her studies at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London.

FENDI Boutique opens in Munich

This is the second collection by the Belgian designer Raf Simons for the famous French label. Instead on a traditional catwalk the defile was presented in a recreated garden in the Tuileries. The Belgian gardening firm Jacques Wirtz supplied the plants and design.
The luxury couture models had flowers and embroidery in abundance. A number of dresses were composed of two or three layers of tulle, with embroidery designed to create a three-dimensional effect.

Copenhagen fashion week took place from 8 to 12 August and showed models for Spring 2013.
We have made a selection of what we liked from the presented collections.
Sports-inspired and wearable styles took centre stage at the fashion week, but still remained utterly cool and cutting edge. Womenswear and menswear brands used drawstring waists, elasticated cuffs and varsity jackets for Spring 13.

Valentino Haute Couture Collection Fall-Winter 2012/2013 was presented at Paris Fashion Week in July. Although the iconic fashion designer retired in 2008, the creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli have been maintaining the classic, high end Valentino style. The collection for Fall-Winter features a range of satin dresses, brocade jumpsuits, embroidered jackets and floor-length capes.
Shimmering fabrics, embroideries and beautiful prints, mainly with flowers and ornaments decorate the beautiful outfits.
Versace Fall-Winter 2012/2013 Haute Couture collection
At Paris Haute Couture fashion week Atelier Versace presented Fall-Winter 2012/2013 collection of dramatically short mini-dresses and long gowns slit high on the thigh.
The models are inspired by the imagery in tarot cards – the sun, the moon and the world. The dresses are feminine and romantic, with layers of transparent plastic and patches of silicone, pearl and crystal mesh. Embroideries of the tarot symbols added to the luxurious look. The fabrics are mostly in tender pastel colours.
