Abyss apocalypse by Philipp Plein for Spring/Summer 2015

Philipp Plein’s new Spring/Summer 2015 collection was inspired by the ocean, its coral barriers and its abysses. The audience was invited to an underwater show of enhanced reality with a 65 meter runway-stage illuminated by a system composed of 75 lights with 3D projections.

A live performance by Neptune´s Orchestra created an enchanting atmosphere while an incredible casting featuring Izabel Goulart, Shanina Shayk and Devon Windsor slipped through illuminated cliffs. The finale showcased 20 stationary models in white ballerina outfits facing digital projectors that progressively cast live prints on their gowns. Then the atmosphere suddenly transformed into a crowded party rocked by a captivating performance of British rapper Tinie Tempah.

Red, blue and white, the classic marine colors represent the starting point of the collection. Horizontal stripes brighten loose dresses with a 1950’s silhouette richly decorated with pavé studs, vintage writings and handmade plaiting.

The blackness of the creatures in the abyss bestow a dark atmosphere through black & white long lace dresses, shiny effects, and liquid dark fabrics featuring outlined skeletons of deep ocean inhabitants.
