Stella McCartney Fall/Winter 2015-2016 women's collection

Celebrating freedom. Exploring classics. Teasing sensuality. Composed silhouettes slowly unravel to reveal a woman’s sensibility. Fabric extensions are layered, wrapped around the body or simply worn loose to create fluid pieces that nonchalantly fall away to reveal a subtle sexiness.

Masculine shapes in luxurious wools in grey mélange and dark loden. Sculpted coats are gently moulded following the form. Kick-flare pants are accentuated with godets or high cuffs. Softness and warmth are found in felted knit mélanges in layers of earthy tones. Silhouettes are elongated with extended sleeves and legs. Light merino sustainable wool from Patagonia floats next to the skin. Soft half knits, chunky fisherman ribs and boiled felts sculpt to the body.

Tailoring starts with the corset. Its strictness is loosened by unexpected fabrications and raw edged seams. Overtly belted waists in both shrunken and oversized styles. Playful silhouettes cinch the waist with a hint of sensuality.

Tweed and camel melton are sliced and reconstructed to create feminine styles with eclectic metallic textiles including floral brocades, antique rose gold Lurex and silk lamé jacquards panelled into dresses and skirts.

Long haired overcoats in ivory and black for a total “Fur Free Fur” statement, trapped by stitched embroidery to create intricate geometric, scribbled and floral patches. Knitted embroidery in winter white and dark navy daisies give the illusion of dishevelled crochet. Eveningwear becomes graphic and returns to black and white. Sculptural wool shapes falling off the shoulder are worn with distorted moulded pearl necklaces and ear jewellery.

Slim fit buttoned boots, sling-backs and mules with curved heels and soft almond-shapes in fine eco-friendly alter nappa in strong neutrals, rich brocade velvet and brushed antique gold. Noma bags in soft nappa in grey, black and racing green with light gold hardware. Black velvet and alter nappa clutches with knuckle rings in pearls or a multicoloured marble effect reflect the collection.
