'One Hundred' by Hannibal Laguna for Fall-Winter 2014/2015

Having drafted his first design 28 years ago and after showing his 99th collection last season, Hannibal Laguna presents ONE HUNDRED. A collection that encloses the essence that has been characteristic of the brand since its origin. A return to the expression and meaning of classical tailoring as part of its creative process, where the dialogue between the client and author takes place.

ONE HUNDRED tells a contemporary story inspired by the cinematographic icons of elegance from the 30's decade. Technically, rounded lines and the stylization of shapes stand out and give way to sculpted silhouettes based in pleats and subtle, falsely simple, transparencies which recall the taste for the handmade.

The legendary bias-cut keeps enchanting the designer, who is now using it in circular pieces made from flares and inverted corolla tulip skirts. Is a collage of silk mikado dresses, sprinkled with golden and nacre embroidery and delicately veiled by layers of thin organza; its result, precise and balanced, reminds the elaborate art of damascene.

The sumptuous embossed natural silk fabric shapes sophisticated jackets and stem trousers, which sneak along night gowns as if they were platonic guests. Also, among his designs, the jewel T-Shirt gains importance; worked with relief effects made with soutache strings or woven in macramé with golden seeds.

A volumes and textures collage in a weightless color palette; porcelain shades such as camellia pink, cloud violet, powdered blue or olive green; those are the main characters in this long journey of experiences and timeless memories.

ONE HUNDRED unveils a collection which evokes the identity features that defines his style. 'The main idea that has inspired me is also the link to a duality that has guided me through time; and odd obsession to combine femininity and romance, searching for delicate results and, at the same time, full of energy'.
