Victoria Beckham for Spring/Summer 2014
The British designer's show has risen to become one of NYFW's most anticipated events.
In place of her signature fitted dresses, this was a collection filled with pieces that, for Beckham, stood out for the variety of proportions and volumes on show. There were cocoon jackets, loose, ruffled tunics and body-swamping gilets. 'I started with shape, both literally as well as conceptually,' Beckham said backstage. 'It’s boy meets girl, with a feminine wave running throughout.'
For Spring/Summer 2014, Victoria Beckham's collection was all about the trouser.
In an aspirin-white venue, with a spotless gleaming catwalk, British model Edie Campbell opened the show in a cocoon-like crepe jacket, a ruffled canvas shirt, and slouchy black short-trouser hybrids that hit just below the knee.
These were shown with generously proportioned organza-panelled shirts, elongated tunics with gently ruffled hems, and more of those kimono-like jackets.
The color palette is: black, white and fuchsia.
