World-Renowned Designer Ivan Donev Triumphs on the Runway at Ruse Fashion Week

The finale of the first evening of fashion shows at Ruse Fashion Week was dedicated to the collection of world-renowned designer Ivan Donev. He hails from the town of Rakovski, and Rome gave him a sip from the fashion spring at the oldest fashion academy. His designs reach the world’s fashion runways, and stars walk the most prestigious red carpets at the Oscars, BAFTAs, Venice Film Festival, and Sir Elton John’s Night of the Stars, from Italy and Europe to the Arab world, Asia, America, and Africa. His mentors have included designers such as Paco Rabanne, Valentino, and Fausto Sarli. His professional biography includes more than 30 international awards.

On the Ruse Fashion Week runway, Donev Design presented a selection of designs — a story of emotions expressed through fabrics, created with the philosophy and vision of designer Ivan Donev. The careful selection of materials is closely linked to the designer's dedication to each of the pieces. The collection is divided into two themes, white and black.

Colors symbolizing peace, divinity, purity, freedom of spirit — and colors of contradiction, darkness, and strength. For designer Ivan Donev, this collection is like a painter’s canvas or a writer’s blank page — the freedom to express oneself. Light and structured fabrics like frisé organza, golden meshes, embroidered and richly decorated lace. The silhouettes are true works of art arriving from all over the world. The designer chooses fabrics during his travels across Europe, Asia, and the Orient, embedding the spirit of these cultures into his work. Silk and jacquard are his strengths, through which he creates a refined style that has become his signature today.

As an ambassador of Bulgarian fashion around the world and for his numerous international successes and promotion of sustainable fashion, Ivan Donev received an elegant statuette from the Bulgarian Fashion Association.

Silviya Kabaivanova, Chairwoman of the Bulgarian Fashion Association, presented the award to Ivan Donev.
