The extravagant workaholic Karl Lagerfeld presented his latest womenswear collection for the luxury fashion house Chanel yesterday (March 10, 2015) in France, during the Paris Fashion Week.
Chanel ready to launch new Coco Noir scent
Chanel are finalising the release of their new Coco Noir scent, the third made in homage to designer Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel.
The fragrance is intended to focus on the interplay between light and dark and the luminosity of black and Baroque elements.
The scent is a "luminous, transparent oriental," according to Christopher Sheldrake, perfumer for Chanel, and it has been developed by the company's master perfumer, Jacques Polge.
Audrey Tautou is more interested in Coco Chanel's past than her style
The French actress - who plays the legendary French designer in new film
'Coco Avant Chanel' - is fascinated by Coco's life and loved being able
to portray her on the big screen.
She said: "I've always loved Chanel's style but I
was more interested in
her character than the fashion. Her life is so rich, and her personality
so unusual, that the story of her life is far greater than simply being
a story of fashion. And I wanted to discover what lay behind the facade."
Audrey Tautou believes Coco Chanel gave women freedom
The French actress - who plays the legendary designer in new film 'Coco
Avant Chanel' - says the designer was a huge inspiration because she broke
down barriers that had held back women before her.
Audrey said: "She was the woman of the moment.
She was very intelligent, strong and courageous. She wanted to be free and
independent. At the time, nobody knew that could exist. She refused to let
herself be closed off by social conventions and she was almost a rebel - she
was almost a feminist ahead of time. In terms of fashion, she freed women."
Disney Pixar`s Up opened Cannes Film Festival
The 62nd Festival was opened for the first time with an animation film.
Disney Pixar's Up is the story of an old man who achieves his dream of flying
away to the wilds of South America when he ties thousands of balloons to his
house, only to discover that a nine-year-old boy explorer has stowed away with
him.
The film features the voices of Christopher Plummer and John Ratzenberger
and is directed by Pete Docter, of Monsters Inc and Toy Story fame.
