Valentino Spring-Summer 2014 collection
Elegance and serenity on the presentation of Valentino Spring-Summer 2014 collection on October 1, 2013, during the Paris Fashion Week.
'The collection is a journey amidst elements borrowed from imaginary ethnic groups,' stated the show notes at Valentino. 'Subtle almost imperceptible references are blended in a vertical silhouette with a sleek sense of regality.'
It combines the Italian aristocratic look with Balkan-style ethnic patterns.
The technical skills and vision of modern femininity of brand's creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli are second to none.
Key elements: lush textiles and embroidery.
The folkloric influences came in a rich color palette: terracotta, forest green, bright turquoise and old gold. Some of them worn with embroidered jackets for even more opulent effect.
Valentino Spring-Summer 2014 collection includes: tapestry-like jackets over pleated, embroidered lace evening dresses, suede fringe cape and mini dresses, playful pants pleated below the knee, crisp white shirts with cape-backs. Necklines are high, arms are covered with narrow sleeves.
