A basket-ball court, cheerleaders, popcorn vendors, breakdancing mascots, the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team and infamous rapper Busta Rhymes all packed into a 3-D mapping experience set the pace for Philipp Plein’s sports-driven, unconventional and high-geared Spring/Summer 2017 men’s collection.
A signature black palette glimmers with touches of red, gold and silver while heads are topped with cool wide brim hats. Leather jackets are often air-sprayed byhand like graffiti murals and blazers are covered with shining superhero crystal pins.
PHILIPP PLEIN continues his high-octane odyssey into the world of hip-rock, a modern day fusion of hip hop, heavy-metal, rock and rap that takes its genesis in the punk scene.
An incredible post-modern and futuristic atmosphere is the set-up of the #PLEINPUNK show at Milan ́s Social Music City. An enormous Globe of Death at the entrance sets the mood of the show, with six stuntmen making acrobatic jumps and turns in the location. In the center of the runway more than 65 destroyed cars colored in gold and silver gave the feeling of an art installation. Right before the model ́s entrance a flaming car appeared and drove fast around the set followed by two vintage police cars like a classic chase scene from a movie. American Hip-Hop sensation Tyga kicks off the show performing his hit : Rack City.
The Philipp Plein woman for pre-fall 15 is wrapped in dreamy muted shades of lavender, gray, violet, foggy white and sky blue, along with pastel pink and jet black. Sophisticated looks in coordinated skin tight studded leather pants and matching jacket under a fur vest or slim tailleur with zipper accents.
A dedication to the extraordinary, a devotion to beauty and a passion for rock and roll are the key elements of every Philipp Plein collection. His Fall-Winter 2015/2016 menswear collection is titled PLEIN WARRIORS.
For the ADV Campaign of his Cruise 2015 collection the designer chooses to immortalize the ironic and glamour soul of the collection through the unconventional eye of the American photographer Dylan Don. As set a maxi studded “photobooth” which perfectly reflects the pop/rock mood of the campaign. Protagonist of the shooting is the gorgeous topmodel Roxy Kiscinska.
Philipp Plein’s new Spring/Summer 2015 collection was inspired by the ocean, its coral barriers and its abysses. The audience was invited to an underwater show of enhanced reality with a 65 meter runway-stage illuminated by a system composed of 75 lights with 3D projections.
