A tomato pill saves lives on a global basis

Tomato pill A new health pill based on tomatoes which could 'save lives on a global basis' was launched in Britain 31 May 2009.

Ateronon capsules are said to offer the benefits of a Mediterranean diet, which is known to prevent heart disease and strokes.

Developed by scientists at Cambridge University, the supplement uses lycopene, a chemical found in the skin of ripe tomatos and has been shown to wipe out nearly all harmful fats in the blood within eight weeks.
